PROGRAMME AND REGISTRATION PROCESS
This is the timetable and programme for the re-enactment
to be held in the city of Burgos the next 10,11 and 12 June 2016.

OFFICIAL PROGRAMME
1.1 FRIDAY,
10 June 2016
For re-enactors who arrive early in Burgos, a tour of
the historic site of the siege will be organized.
20.00hrs. Lecture by Oleg Sokolov, Professor of Modern History at the
University of St. Petersburg, Russia. Topic: "Preparation and Implementation
of the Russian campaign. "
1.2 SATURDAY,
11 June 2016
1.2.1 MORNING
09.00hrs. Campsites
open to the public.
11.00hrs. Officers
meeting to prepare the battle.
12.00hrs. Parade
through the city centre.
13.30hrs. Time
to meet the public and visit the city centre.
1.2.2 AFTERNOON
15.00hrs. Meal
Time.
Camp open to the public.
19.30hrs. BATTLE: in the open
field on the great platform of the hill of San Miguel where the Duke of the
Wellington began his attack on September 19, 1812.
Battle Plan: The French Army will
retreat to defensive positions on the main Castle Hill as happened in 1812. Advancing
Allied army will follow the French.
21.30hrs. Meal
Time.
23.30hrs Camps
close to the public.
1.3 SUNDAY,
12 June 2016
09.00hrs. Campsite
open to the public.
11.30hrs. Units
form up in order of march and move to take their positions on the battlefield.
12.00hrs. BATTLE: this will
recreate the last and most ferocious attempt to capture the Burgos castle hill
by the allied army and will cover:

Movements
approach to fixed positions and height of the French;
·
Exchange
of gunfire and artillery positions between
parapets;
parapets;
·
Advances
in zig-zag approach of British sappers
under covering fire;
under covering fire;
·
Fire
from the French garrison;
·
Final
Attack on the French positions at a number points which will be repelled by the
French troops.
13.00hrs. Parade of troops back to camp and final remembrance to those
who fell in the battle at the front door of the castle in the presence of the
local authorities. Delivery of commemorative souvenir and dismissal of the
armies.
14.30hrs. Meal
time and break camp.
2. FACILITIES
PROVIDED BY THE ORGANISERS
The Organisers will provide participants with the
following:
- Wood and straw necessary for the bivouac.
- Field shower and washing facilities.
- Toilets
- Space to install a tent in the appropriate camp (French
Army on the Castle Hill and Allied Army on the San Miguel Hill). The
Organisers need details of the number and size of tents to be taken to the
event – see Section 3.4.2 below.
- Area to install the campfire
- Guides/translators and support. If this is not
possible in a particular language, it will be expressed in English.
- Prior to the event a telephone number and email will
be provided so that any problems that may arise can be notified to the Organisers.
- Official permits to transport weapons provided
that the conditions required by the Organisers are met. It is preferable
that the re-enactors have the European Firearms Passes - see Section 3.4.2
below.
- Gunpowder will be provided for re-enactors duly
accredited – see Section 3.3 below.
- Enough food and drink for two breakfasts, two
lunches and one dinner.
- Financial support of 20 euros per soldier,
officer, campfollower or musician who spends the night in camp with their own
tent and who travels from outside of Spain.
- Accommodation in military tents with bunk beds,
installed next to the bivouac by the Organisers to those who cannot carry
their own tent and have no other accommodation.
- Information about hotels, special rates and
offers of accommodation in the city.
- Public Liability Insurance for participants for
damage to third parties in the course of the event.
- Security Plan
- First Aid during the battles. The bivouac is 2 km
from the University Hospital of Burgos.
- Provision of Emergency Services.
3. REGISTRATION PROCEDURE
3.1 Numbers Allowed to Attend
The Organisers have limited attendance for the British
Army to 200 Soldiers and 50 Camp followers. These places will be allocated on
first come, first served basis. Once the 200 Soldiers and 50 Campfollowers has
been reached then any further registrations will be kept on a reserve list to
fill any places made available by re-enactors falling out of the event.
3.2 Registration
Registration of the British Army is being undertaken
by Martyn Monks. Attached is a Registration Form which should be completed by
the Unit Commander and returned to martyn.monks@btinternet.com

This Form must be completed as it will allow the Organisers to arrange the Spanish Firearms licences.

3.3 Accreditation
As for Waterloo 200 including someone on the
Registration Form means that the unit commander is taking responsibility for
the accreditation of the individual concerned to take part in the event
including the safety aspects of handling any weapon they use during the event.
3.4 Submission of Registration Forms
3.4.1 Completed
Registration Forms should be sent to Martyn Monks by Friday, 26 February 2016.
This will allow submission of a consolidated list to the Organiser by their
required date of 1 March 2016.
3.4.2 This early
date will allow the Organisers to obtain the official firearms permits required
to allow individuals to import weapons into Spain for the event. Please enter
into the “Comments” box of the Registration Form details of any European
Firearms Passes held.
3.4.2 If a unit
intends to camp it must provide full details of tentage on the Registration Form.
